Palestinian Killed by Israeli Forces in West Bank

(MENAFN) Israeli forces killed a Palestinian man late Sunday after alleging he carried out a car-ramming attack that injured Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, according to Israeli and Palestinian authorities.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said Amjad Jawad Abdel Fattah Natsha, 31, was killed by Israeli forces at the Gush Etzion junction south of Bethlehem. The ministry cited the Palestinian General Authority for Civil Affairs, the official coordinating body between the Palestinian Authority and Israel.

"A young man, Amjad Jawad Abdel Fattah Natsha, 31, was killed by Israeli occupation forces at the Gush Etzion junction south of Bethlehem," said the Palestinian Health Ministry, citing the Palestinian General Authority for Civil Affairs, the official liaison body between the Palestinian Authority and Israel.

An Israeli public broadcaster reported that two female settlers were wounded in the incident.

It said "the perpetrator, a resident of Hebron, was shot dead at the scene by a soldier."

Earlier in the day, emergency responders reported that four Israeli settlers were injured in a car-ramming attack at the Gush Etzion Junction.

The Magen David Adom (MDA) ambulance service said two of the victims sustained serious injuries, while the remaining two were moderately wounded.

According to Israeli media, authorities shut down Route 60 near the junction and deployed large numbers of security personnel throughout the area following the attack.

The incident comes amid heightened tensions across the occupied West Bank since the outbreak of the war in Gaza in October 2023.

Since then, Israeli forces and settlers have killed 1,168 Palestinians, wounded 12,666 others, displaced approximately 33,000 people and detained nearly 23,000 across the West Bank, according to Palestinian figures.
