Provided by AGPAmong the dead was Wissam Fayez Abdel Hadi, head of the Khan Younis police investigations unit, and Sergeant Fadi Abdul-Maati Heikal, both killed when an Israeli airstrike struck their vehicle in the Al-Amal neighborhood west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, according to the General Directorate of Police in Gaza.
In a separate incident, an Israeli drone struck a group of civilians in the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, killing one person and wounding two others, medical sources told media.
A correspondent on the ground reported that the strikes occurred in areas explicitly outside Israeli army deployment zones under the terms of the active ceasefire agreement.
Violence also extended to Gaza's coastal waters. Local sources told media that two fishermen were wounded by Israeli naval gunfire while at sea off Gaza City, with Israeli gunboats firing shells and unleashing heavy machine-gun fire toward the coastline.
Separately, eyewitnesses reported a large explosion in Gaza City's eastern outskirts as the Israeli army carried out demolition operations targeting residential buildings and structures within its deployment areas. Israeli forces additionally shelled the southern town of Al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis, according to witnesses.
The cumulative toll of ceasefire violations has been severe. Since the agreement came into force, Israeli forces have killed approximately 850 Palestinians and injured a further 2,433 through continued shelling and gunfire incidents, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.
The ceasefire was brokered following two years of conflict that began in October 2023 — a war Gaza health authorities say has killed over 72,000 people, injured more than 172,000 others, and caused destruction affecting an estimated 90% of the territory's civilian infrastructure.
